The Golden Gate

Today it was decided it was "Bike the Bridge Day"... I was not a part of this decision. 10 miles each way from the Embarcadero bart station to Sausalito across the golden gate. Turned out to be the best part of the summer so far. Despite the burning pain and the state of atrophy my limbs are now in.

Some sights and pictures of us at the pier we cycled down before we realised it was a pier and not the way to the bridge. Note my hair in this picture. You'll see why.

The girls decided they wanted to go for a bit of a frolic. Karl is now officially one of the girls.

Inclines are not our strong point.

"Let's BE the bridge" were their exact words.

The bridge is windy. Very windy. Like, gale force. My hair just... I was very upset... Taken after our first crossing.

The Hill of Death. Cycling down it at full speed was probably the most fun I've had all holiday. Almost came off twice and ended up taking a corner too close and speeding through a bush. Nanny doesn't have to know about that part.
Taken after the second crossing of the bridge on our way back. Just to be clear I had anticipated this and smothered my hair in gel and borrowed the girls' hairspray. It did not work. I kinda liked it that way though. Looked like a heavy metal fan on the train home. The windswept look obviously suits me. Course it could just be the dashing good looks. Who knows?
Thought I'd finish with a picture of the sunset on the way home. That's really all my news for now. All the suitable parts anyway. Ill update again some time soon hopefully. Not sure if I posted this here but my american phone works again. Cleaned all the tea out with a hairdryer.
Talk to ya all soon!

4th of July

Hey! Havn't updated in a while, partly because I havn't had much news and partly because I'm sinfully lazy! Spent the 4th of July down on fisherman's wharf! Had to sprint to catch the fireworks but they were absolutly amazing! Pictures will follow although they in no way do them justice!

The 6th man

Hey everyone,
Our 6th roommate arrived today! We're only allowed 4 tennants so it was a major stealth operation to get her to the apartment! We had a plan worthy of Tom Clancy! Although it didn't exactly go to plan when everyone started screaming off the balcony... no problems in the end though! Not yet anyway! A few interviews so far but no job offers yet! Still trying! All's well except for the sunburn! We're planning on filling the ice cube tray with aloe vera and freezing it!

Talk to you all soon,
- Kev

Tuesday, 5 June 2012

Hey all! We got a tip that there were open interviews in Bubba Gump Shrimp so we went there today to see if we could get anything from it. Filled out a massive application and waited an hour for the manager to find out they weren't hiring! Not a good start! haha! All else is well though! Karl and Jo arrived on friday. The male presence is much welcomed! Job hunting everyday (walking around for 8 hours straight) is exhausting but it's the only way to get it done! Talk to you all soon!

Arrived

Hey everyone,
Arrived in San Francisco on Tuesday at god knows what time. Had been up for almost 48 hours at that point and wasn't in any fit state to raise my arm and look at my watch. Got settled into the apartment (i.e. dumped bags) and promptly passed out. Next day was all business, visited Irish Immigration for orientation, set up bank account (much less of a pain than Ireland) etc.. No particular news other than that. If there's some major emergency or something I probably won't be carrying my (expensive) irish phone everywhere so my american number is 510-220-5348. Talk to y'all soon.
